Making Slings

When the hides are received, they are inspected so only the best part of the hide will be cut into straps.  We receive our hides after they have been specially processed with an oil to secure that they will not crack or damage while they are bent and stretched at time of use.  We individually hand dye each sling to the specifications of the shooter so that the leather, heavy as it may be, has even more body to it to keep its shape and suppleness longer.  

Ron has always been an avid shooter.  His first competition was in high school where they held their competition in the gymnasium basement.  He served in the Army Artillery and was in Viet Nam in the First Calvary. 

Competing with the South Carolina Rifle Team in the 80's was a great experience and Ron became State Secretary to the NRA Shooting Sports.

As a team member they were issued government slings for their M-14 rifles.  This gave Ron the opportunity to see what a great sling should be as the government slings were thin and only lasted one shooting season, if that!  This is when he first became interested in making a sling that would truly benefit the shooter during the competition.  

Because every shooter has his individual needs and desires, we custom length the sling to fit the shooter and his rifle.  There are many color options as well as stampings to personalize the sling. Each sling is hand sewn on the short strap as well as the keepers.  We have found, through years of experience, that hand sewing will last almost forever!  Stitching awls and rivets are great, but nothing beats hand stitching.  

One of the special services we offer is to custom stamp your sling to indicate your personalization at no charge.  We offer all the military logos such as ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE, MARINES, COAST GUARD, and NAVY SEALS.  For the competitive shooters with awards, we offer PRESIDENT'S 100, DISTINGUISHED RIFLEMAN and CMP at Camp Perry with the date of award.  We can do special stampings for teams with custom names or just use the National Match logo.  Any designation you want, we will do our best to meet it.
